What is a Counselor in Training (CIT)?

A CIT is a graduate student that is in enrolled in a Practicum/Internship course in a Counseling Program at a University. Working with a CIT can be a unique and valued opportunity to receive a comprehensive team approach to treatment, because the CIT receive a high level of supervision from Dr. Lancaster who reviews and influences every aspect of the service provided.  Supervision can involve direct observation of treatment sessions, review of taped recordings of treatment sessions, and frequent case consultation.  As is the case with all clients of DLS you will benefit from your CIT having the opportunity to consult, both individually and in group settings, with other DLS staff on how to provide the best possible care to you.   CITs are also informed of the latest therapy approaches, and they are often energetic, motivated, and they have fewer clients, and thus, more time to devote to providing individualized care.

What is a Good Faith Estimate (GFE)?

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided. We provide this estimate to our self pay clients.

How long will my appointment be?

Appointments typically range from 45 minutes to 1 hour but this may vary by provider and the service being provided.

 Are groups offered?

Absolutely!  Groups are offered at various times throughout the year.

Please inform our staff when scheduling an appointment if this is what interests you.
